Help for Heroes

Wakinyan is a Lakota
(Teton Sioux) word for "Thunder".

In a mythical context,
the word is taken to
mean "Thunder bird".

We use this as a logo
for our bike club.

Yep, you read that right - the tinth one!

2017 Wakinyan Rally will be the tenth rally that Salutation MCC has cobbled together for your delight and drunkeness.

According to those that know things, the 10th anniversary is traditionally celebrated with gifts of tin (unless you're American and they change things to suit themselves). So that's Tenth Anniversary or Tin Anniversary. Just because we're either creative or awkward (you decide), we have chosen to combine the two together, making this our TINTH rally.

Tickets are on sale now! Get yours early, before we sell out again!

If you want to keep bang up-to-date with what's going on, then visit the Wakinyan Rally Facebook page, where you can click things and get info to your 'News Feed'. Apparently. Good stuff...

charity

We haven't stopped argueing about who we are going to support in 2016, but when we do, we shall let you know. In the meantime, this is what happened to the money YOU raised last year...

Presentation of cheque to Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK)

In 2015, the amount raised was £1000 and went to support the Chernobyl Children’s Project (UK). This charity supports children, families and young people in Belarus, the country worst affected by the 1986 Nuclear Disaster.

If you'd like to know more about this worthy cause, then please click this link and have a nosey round the website.

You can ask just about any member of this club about the kids, we've met a bunch of them over the last few years. Their stories are truly heartbreaking, but the smiles on their faces when they rev the tits off some of our bikes is absolutely fabulous!
